May 12- Bike Month Proclamation. Mayor Riley & City Council will announce the City's goal of becoming a Bicycle Friendly Community and pass a resolution proclaiming May as Bicycle Month. 5pm, City Hall.
May 13- GreenDrinks Meeting. Bike Valet provided by Holy City Bike Co-op 7pm-9pm at Yo Burrito, 77 Wentworth Street. www.GreenDrinksCharleston.blogspot.com
May 15- Bike to Work Day - Dust off that old bike and join others riding to work. On your way, stop by one of several commuter pit stops on your way to work for refreshments and a free bike safety check. Locations include West Ashley Greenway, King Street, Calhoun Street, and the Ravenel Bridge Bike/Ped Lane. More info at www.centuryV.net
May 16- Bike Central at the Charleston Farmer's Market. Take in the sights, sounds & food at the weekly Farmers Market at Marion Square. Bike valet, bike safety course, bike maintenance clinic, maps, smoothies & more! 8am-1pm.
May 17- The 2130 Lou Gehrig's Ride. This is a century ride (100 miles) through the lowcountry to benefit ALS research. More information at www.coastalcyclists.org
May 20- Ride of Silence. Annual National bicycle ride for all ages & users. Join other riders to raise awareness of bicycle safety & remember cyclists who were killed on the road. More info at www.coastalcyclists.org
